Radix is an (almost) completely 3D printed bot. This fabrication method was chosen to make Radix as easy to produce as possible. In order to achieve this goal and still be durable enough for combat, different filaments had to be combined in a unique way. Most of the body is made from flexible TPU, while the weapon is supported by a glass fiber nylon filament "teardrop". This teardrop connects the weapon motor to the weapon assembly and allows both to flex in unison on big hits. This prevents the weapon from striking the motor pulley or belt. <br />

To match the shiny metallic TPU, the weapon blade is polished AR600. When I was using AR500, the blade had to be replaced every 1-2 competitions. The AR600 blade has survived 4 competitions to date and is still going strong, with a minor bend.<br />
