Apex

2021 - Apex has been improved a lot since May 15th. The original version was only supposed to be a prototype. It is now made mostly out of UHMW and Aluminum instead of cookie sheet and wood. All the electronics are the same. Apex is also a lot speedier than it was. [[Sacrificer]], my first robot, has become Apex's mini bot.

March 26, 2022 - Apex now has new gearmotors instead of the planetary ones. That change has made Apex nearly bulletproof and will hopefully prevent the unexpected deaths of drive motors. These new drive motors are also faster than the old ones. I have been truly impressed with Apex at the March 26, 2022, NHRL event.

April 23, 2022 - Apex has a new weapon motor now which has made the weapon bulletproof. Apex made an extremely deep run into the April tournament, and I am hoping to qualify Apex in the July 16-17 tournament. I have been even more impressed with Apex at the April 23, 2022, NHRL event.

Yahoo was originally built by another competitor and was named "Banshee". Banshee never competed under that name. Chad New of Team Wazio Robotics fame bought it from the original builder, and took the bot to China in 2018 for the "Fight My Bots" competition under the new name of "Yahoo". Yahoo placed 8th overall, the highest of any non-Chinese bots. Yahoo 1.0 also competed at Motorama in 2020, right before COVID struck. Plagued by drive issues, Yahoo became a joint effort between Team Wazio and Team Cosmos, and was rebuilt as version 2.0 for the July 24th Norwalk competition.

Highlights:

* 1st place finish at 2021 Norwalk July competition. 4-0 record.
* 2nd place finish 2022 at Motorama.
* 3rd place finish 2022 AVC competition.
