During their travels around the Mediterranean, The Data Lich came upon an abandoned temple once used by the people of Tuscany. This temple held the vestiges of the Tuscan Deathmonger; Orcus. The Data Lich used their necrotronic magic to bind the forgotten god into a shell. After bitter failure in the first event of 2023, the Data Lich brought Orcus back their lair for... recalibration.

The Data Lich is necrotech magus from realms beyond human comprehension. They travel the world searching for aspects of death and bringing them back from the brink to serve as robotic warriors. In order to compete in NHRL they inhabit the body of [[Eric Novick]], a game designer and hobbyist bot builder, to perform dark magic rituals fueled by the vestiges of death. During a fight the Data Lich inhabits Eric's body again to command the old gods in their diminutive forms. So far, they have resisted, however the Data Lich's strength only grows over time, and eventually they will succumb to its demands.
