Rosie is the Kinetic Subteam of Combat Robotics @ Cornell's second robot, succeeding Richard following a strong initial run, including an appearance at 2022 Championships. Rosie is a hybrid horizontal spinner/undercutter design, featuring a custom-machined billet front weapon housing, as well as monogrammed back plates and a floral inspired top plate. In later iterations, she also featured aluminum and titanium forks and minibots Rosie (pictured), L Billet, and Gorge Rusel.
Following Richard's successful 2022 campaign, the Kinetic Subteam sought to capitalize on this success while also trying a new weapon type. However, Rosie did not get the opportunity to reach the heights of Richard. At her first competition, March 18, 2023, she started strong with back-to-back wins over Doomedba, but suffered a very narrow defeat against a resurgent Richard at the second round of elimination, knocking Rosie out of the bracket. However, this fight revealed important weaknesses in Rosie's design, namely the fragility of her weapon system and the plasticity of her AR400 weapon blade.
Before her next competition on May 6, 2023, Rosie received several upgrades, including AR500 weapon blades with a new geometry, new weapon pulleys, steel weapon spacers to increase durability, and AR500 and Aluminum 7075 forks. These upgrades made a distinct difference in Rosie's weapon reliability, with her winning several weapon-on-weapon engagements with Swole, and tanking hits from eventual quarterfinalist Cthulhu. However, Rosie was decisively beaten by the eventual champion, Maximizer, leaving May competition with a 1-2 record.
Although Rosie's competition days are behind her, she enjoys retirement as a fully functional testbot for Combat Robotics @ Cornell.
