Bean Supreme: Refried carries on the control-bot legacy of Team Dummy Bros’ first bot, an SSP kit named Bean Supreme. After experimenting with kinetic weapons on their second bot, Codename Pinto, 11-year-old Razi wanted to return to the fun of driving a control bot and Ben wanted to build a bot inspired by one of his favorites, Wicked Wedge. But on the day they sat down to start CADing, Razi went rogue—coming up with a design that could flip forward like Wicked Wedge but also flip backward while using a simpler mechanism.
This design was first tested as a 1-lb plastic antweight robot named Sour Cream. After just one competition, the design was deemed a success, and Razi declared it would be the focus of Team Dummy Bros’ bot-building efforts. Following multiple iterations as both a plastic ant and a traditional antweight, the pair decided it was time to scale it up to a beetleweight.
Bean Supreme: Refried is all about controlling the match while being able to take a beating in the process. Razi’s driving style is well-suited to control bots, and he’s proven more than capable of forcing opponents into "the thing" using the double-articulating wedge.
In one year, Bean Supreme: Refried qualified for the NHRL World Championships and finished in the top 16. Bean Supreme peaked at #18 in the rankings. With the release of the 2026 NHRL judging criteria, Bean Supreme's future is up in the air and will likely no longer compete at NHRL under the new judging criteria.
