#REDIRECT Green Eggs and Wham
"Both of its wheels are gone again!" - Norwalk Havoc, Feb 6th, 2021.

Green Eggs & Wham is a shell spinner designed & built by Robert Keyes.

Initially designed for the November 2020 event, it was forced to to drop from the competition after several electronic and safety failures. It first competed in the February 2021 event, winning a Judges Decision over Silent X, followed by losses to Terrorpin and ElectroHog.

During its first competition, a serious design flaw in its drivetrain caused the robot to eject its wheels when at operating speed.

Robot Updates
Following the less than stellar performance during its first event, Green Eggs & Wham has been redesigned to accommodate a new weapon motor and 4 wheel drive.

As quoted on the Team ARC Facebook page, "The 22mm brushless motors that MK1 was using are fantastic: powerful, tunable, reliable and utterly unsuitable for this low-profile shell. They're just too big, especially with an ideal change to 4 driven wheels. So, in with some well known old school: 16mm brushed motors and Fingertech foam wheels cut down to 1.125 inches. This change brings a couple of perceived benefits: mainly allowing me to push the drive motors out to the corners of the chassis and run a skinnier tyre with a known level of traction and somewhat less power...Gone is the lovely Maytech 3536-700Kv motor from V1: it's a powerful beastie and I'll find a use for them somewhere, but directly coupling the motor to the shell led to a couple of pretty serious issues. The hole in the top plate was a little oversized for the shaft and caused wobble under speed (in turn, causing the wheel ejection problem), plus it had a truly glacial spin up time of 15-20 seconds...replaced this entire setup, swapping in a 2508.5-1300Kv motor in and putting in a 3:1 reduction belt setup with a smooth pulley on the shell drive to allow for some slippage under impact. I've also changed the weapon shaft to a 0.375" shoulder bolt that goes the entire length of the chassis. This change is mainly to solve the shell wobble and spinup time: it should spin up respectably fast now, but with a lower top speed of ~200mph."

MK2 of Green Eggs & Wham will premiere at the July 24th Norwalk Havoc Event.
