The first solo build by Jamie Reilly, ProtoStorm began as a vertical bar spinner with a 6" diameter. It was made of a random steel bar from Home Depot. The bot was handmade from polycarbonate, UHMW, and aluminum front armor. This first version had completely exposed sides and could barely move. It lost its weapon belt quickly in combat. It was modeled after the bot Electric Boogaloo from RoboGames. It debuted at NHRL August 2019.

**ProtoStorm v2.1: The new ProtoStorm was a total rebuild. The chassis was made of joined UHMW pieces with UHMW wrap-around shields. New additions were a custom 4.5" diameter symmetrical AR500 steel blade, a self-righting arm powered by a servo, and two fixed aluminum wedgelets.
**ProtoStorm v2.2: For the next revision, the lifter's connection to the servo was strengthened, and the front weapon pulley was changed to a custom one 3D printed of Nylon. This improved reliability of both systems. Garolite was used for this version's top plate.
