Manufacturer Recalled is the first and only Airbag robot to ever compete at NHRL. It was designed entirely with Napkin Aided Design (NAD) and built using only hand tools and a welder. The aluminum chassis is made from recycled door hardware, the front wedge is made from Home Depot's finest steel angle, and the airbags were purchased on eBay from various vehicles weighing between 3.8-5.4 pounds each. Drive is powered by Lumineer 41A ESCs, REV Robotics NEO 550 brushless motors, Bane Bots P61 20:1 gearboxes, and cast rubber wheels. The weapon is actuated by a mechanical relay which was a source of problem as it would cause the airbag to deploy upon impact. |

The design was meant to get under the opponents robot and launch it into the wall and/or ceiling. In it's first fight, the airbag deployed prematurely causing the robot to get stuck. It was later pulled into the weapon of Pramheda causing severe damage to the weapon and frame. While airbags are still allowed by NHRL rules as of September 2023, they are considered hazardous weapons and require design approval for use. Thomas, the builder of Manufacturer Recalled discourages their use in any form against spinner type robots. |
