Stickler is designed to be a full body beater bar spinnes and is an upscaled version of the plastic ant class robot Twiglett. The design thesis was to build a version of the robot Noob Toob with a more effective weapon and a more controlable movement. The design forgoes nearly all armor for a full attack methodology, the thought process being that the 250 mph tip speed weapon likely acts as sufficent armor for the gooey electronics inside.

The weapon is a full body beater bar weighing approximately 850 grams. The bar is driven off a Badass 2814 1950kv brushless motor driving a whole frame planetary gearset. The planetary gears have a rubber tire to act as a clutch between the weapon drum and the gearset to provide a break to protect gear and motor integrity.

A frame containing the drive ring, bearing ring and two connecting bars bars, the opposite bearing ring which is slotted to accept the frame, and two impactors made of quarter inch titanium to protect the aluminum drum.

The drive is currently down to two design options. A 3 wheel tripod design driven off a 16mm repeat brushed motor. Or, for weight consideration, a cam shuffler design driven off Just Cuz gecko
The drive is currently a cam shuffler running off two repeat max motors and a repeat dual brushless ESC. The robot uses 6 TPU shuffler feet, three per side with through bolted 5 mm TPU armor

Stickler is designed to be a full body beater bar spinnes and is an upscaled version of the plastic ant class robot Twiglett. The design thesis was to build a version of the robot Noob Toob or Pepe Silvia with a more effective weapon and a more controlable movement. The design forgoes nearly all armor for a full attack methodology, the thought process being that the 200 mph tip speed weapon likely acts as sufficent armor for the gooey electronics inside.

The robot frame is 15mm aluminum tube steel with 3d printed nylon blocks mounting various motors, electronics systems to it. The only internal armor is a 3d printed TPU sock to hold wiring and internal components from making contact with the bots own weapon and protect from debris and glancing shots.

The weapon is a full body beater bar weighing approximately 800 grams. The bar is driven off a Badass 2814 1950kv brushless motor driving a whole frame planetary gearset. The planetary gears have a rubber tire to act as a clutch between the weapon drum and the gearset to provide a break to protect gear and motor integrity. The drum consists of 4 parts. A frame containing the drive ring, bearing ring and two connecting bars bars, the opposite bearing ring which is slotted to accept the frame, and two impactors made of quarter inch titanium to protect the aluminum drum.

The drive is currently a cam shuffler running off two repeat max motors and a repeat dual brushless ESC. The robot uses 6 TPU shuffler feet, three per side with through bolted 5 mm TPU armor
