The Friendly Fire

The Friendly Fire was a rumored flame arena hazard which would be activated by the robots within the arena via a push button. After the button is pushed, and after a predetermined time delay, the flame would activate on the opposite side of the arena for a predetermined duration. This would allow a robot to drag or push the opponent’s robot into the flame, score control points and potentially cause burn damage.

Originally slated to debut in 2021, NHRL ultimately decided against implementing arena hazards and the idea was shelved.
